The Oceans
The Oceans: The Oceans is inspired by our vast seas and its mysteries. While water covers 70% of our planet, over 80% of it has been left unexplored. Our science has gotten us to the surface of Mars and the moon, yet we know less about the alien-like environment of our oceans. This work is a dedication to the beauty of our deep blue seas, all of its beaches, its life forms and its quarks. Without our waters, our home would scorch from the sun's energy. The oceans absorb massive amounts of heat without increasing the overall climate of our planet. That in itself, is worth protecting.

Mermaid Tail: I don't know if mermaids are real but if they are, I'd like to think they have iridescent scales with a personality that matches. The shimmer from their scales and the glistening aura of their nature has captivated story-tellers since the beginning of storytelling. This work is dedicated to all the beautiful mermaids hidden in life.
Dark Scales: The ocean is full of mysterious creatures. There are millions of undiscovered species under the surface. Strange, beautiful yet mysterious fish, each with their own story. Scales and scars timestamp their journey through life. Having over half an eon to their belt maybe we can learn the wisdom of what it takes to swim through life and continue to what unfolds tomorrow.

Manta: There's something so majestic about batoids and how they effortlessly glide through water. From spotted eagle rays to manta and sting rays, all have that smooth movement that gives a seascape an even more pronounced picture.

Summer Swells: When summer is in full swing, nothing cools you off like a beach day by the ocean. Our oceans bring us joy in many forms. Whether it's a romantic date spot that eventually leads to that destination wedding, a peaceful getaway from the daily desk job or surfing the sets that no one believes happened these summer swells are magical moments that give nostalgia to all.

Arctic Waves: Arctic waves are like the essence of life's journey, embodying the unseen currents that shape our existence. Their ceaseless rise and fall capture the ebb and flow of our experiences, where each crest symbolizes fleeting moments of triumph, and each trough reflects the quiet depths of introspection and challenge. The delicate dance of light and shadow upon the waves mirrors the ever-shifting landscape of our emotions and thoughts, revealing the hidden beauty in both chaos and calm. In their rhythmic passage, Arctic waves remind us of the intricate, interconnected patterns that define our lives, urging us to find harmony in the perpetual motion of being.

Sunset Waves: Sunsets and rolling ocean waves are a combination older than man himself. Our waters have seen the evolution of species, the growth of mankind and the fall of civilizations one sunset at a time. But for every sunset that dips below the aqua horizon lies a sunrise reaching for a new day somewhere else in the world. It's a reminder that something that's given away is taken from somewhere else.

Water's Edge: Have you ever been to the water's edge? Maybe there's one in your hometown. How does it make you feel? For me, I feel at peace but energized. Ready for adventure. The ocean has a way with waves to make us all feel something. How does the ocean make you feel?

Golden Sand Beach: If you are patient enough to catch a golden hour along the coast, you'll notice that the sand has a shimmer unlike any other time of day. Light hitting the sands at just the right angle gives it this glistening effect that is uniquely different depending on what beach you are on. This work is a tribute to those special grains of sands making golden hour more special.

Beach Day: From the hot summer heat and bustling boardwalks to cool ocean breezes and soft sands. If you were fortunate enough to spend summers at a beach, you know the euphoric feeling of seeing that endless ocean horizon growing into view as you drive up to the shoreline. Beach Day is for all the waves that took my breath away. Whether it was the East Coast or West Coast and Hawaiian Islands to Phi Phi Islands it's hard to pick a favorite beach as every place has its own feel. If I had to widdle it down to one wave my vote is towards the sands somewhere in Phuket.

Bondi Beach: Golden sands, clear turquoise waters and picturesque cliffs in a backdrop with coastal urbanization, Bondi Beach is a place I've been longing to visit. It's a place famous for its consistent sets of waves and vibrant surf culture. While I have not been there yet I still imagine the beauty being something so pure it gives reason that Bondi Beach regularly places in top beach lists around the world.

Arctic Ocean: Inspired by the cold Arctic swells in the northern region of our globe this piece is a tribute to the importance of our polar regions. The icy blue hues are not just home to fleeting wildlife and Indigenous cultures but also play a role in regulating our global climate. The ice and snow create an albedo effect reflecting massive amounts of radiation energy back into space keeping our planet at livable temperatures. What happens here can have profound effects anywhere across the globe as the Arctic is an integral part of global ocean circulation patterns. Thermohaline circulation distributes heat around the planet by circulating water currents through the region and back out throughout the Earth. Today, The Arctic faces many threats that counteract all the above and more. While sea levels keep rising and permafrost keeps melting more CO2 gets released into the ocean which creates a more acidic habitat for the ecosystem. This causes a chain reaction of loss of sea life. The Arctic might not be a place to live but it is a place worth protecting.
